We redesigned this series to better accommodate families with multiple children so they can attend the class together. Improvements that were made include:
• ZooTots will be available for 2 age groups: 18 months - 4 years old, and 4 - 5 year old
• Extended class time to include a Zoo walk to visit an animal exhibit
• One parent/ adult may bring up to 3 registered children to class
Join us for a program exclusively for families with young children. Nashville Zoo offers a six-week series designed for you to spend quality time with the children in your life, whether you are a parent, grandparent or caregiver. Come to Nashville Zoo for 6 consecutive weeks to have fun and learn together. Each week we will make a special craft, meet special animal friends in the classroom and go on a zoo walk to an animal exhibit.
Adults may take turns attending each week with the registered children. All siblings need to be registered for class and a minimum of 18 months old.
Sounds of Nature - Shhh! Did you hear that? Was it a bird singing? Was it a duck quacking? Children will learn how animals communicate.
Have You Hugged a Tree Today? - Trees give us oxygen, shade, and provide homes for different animals. Children will learn how important trees are to us and our animal friends.
SSSSSSSnakes!!! - How do you eat if you have no hands? How do you move if you have no legs? Snakes are unique animals and children will learn about the special adaptations they have to help them survive
Turtle Trekking - We will discover different kinds of turtles that live in Tennessee. Turtles live in the water and on land. Children will make a turtle shell rattle to take home with them.
Camouflage, Can You Find Me? - Children will discover what camouflage is and learn how animals have different colors and patterns to blend into the environment. Children will make their own special binoculars.
Back Yard Friends - We’ll get an up-close look at animals that live in our neighborhoods. We’ll discover how they use their senses to survive.
