Baby Boom!
There is a baby boom going on at Nashville Zoo. Three clouded leopard cubs have been joined by a lorikeet chick and are awaiting the arrival of a baby anteater. Fall guests will have the unique opportunity to meet these new additions to our Zoo family.Read more...

ZooTeens 2009
The summer of 2009 saw 74 ZooTeens volunteering at Nashville Zoo. In the months of June and July they shared animal “biofacts” with visitors at various exhibits. Many of the teens were returning from a previous season and 32 of those earned the privilege to assist keepers in animal care areas. Get your teen involved next summer! 2010 applications available in January.

Calling all photographers! Join us for a unique opportunity to photograph some of the education department's animal stars. Be sure to bring your camera and creative perspective!

Back Stage Pass

Join the Education Department and keeper staff on a great behind-the-scenes adventure with the elephants and anteaters.

Home School Afternoons

Enhance your children's home school curriculum by weaving some "Wild Encounters" into their school day. These engaging programs encourage home school students to learn about the importance of conservation by exploring the world of animals.

Celebrate Reading
November 6, 13, 20 & 27
Join the Zoo staff and other characters every Friday morning in November as we “Celebrate Reading”. This special story time takes place rain, snow or shine in our amphitheater (sessions will be moved indoors if needed), so come dressed for the weather. Stories will vary from week to week. Snacks will be provided.

HealthSpring Senior Day
Friday, September 18

FREE admission for seniors 65 or better! HealthSpring will also be passing out vouchers for seniors to receive FREE refreshments (small souvenir fountain drink or bottled water & popcorn or soft serve ice cream cone) from the Zoofari Cafe and the Zoo's concession stands. NO reservations required.

Latino Family Festival
Sunday, September 20

Throughout the day, Nashville Zoo will have Spanish translators at several of our interpretive stations, animal shows and keeper talks throughout the day. Additional activities such as live Latin music, inflatables and dancers from the Ibiza Dance Team will help make this day a fiesta!

Member Morning
Wednesday, September 23

Take advantage of free carousel rides, uncrowded Jungle Gym play and the change to see staff preparing to open the Zoo for the day, including releasing animals into their habitats.

Harvest Days
Saturday, September 26 and Sunday September 27

Step through a wrinkle in time and be transported to Nashville Zoo’s Historic Home circa 1870. The weekend is a celebration of days gone by featuring artisans and musicians displaying their craft and skills. You can try your hand at the pen and ink station, pick up some gardening tips or sample fresh pressed apple cider straight from the mill!

Animal Affair - A Taste of the Wild
Saturday, October 3

Animal ambassadors welcome you for a stroll through Entry Village for a sampling of exotic flavors from Nashville area restaurants. Then head into the Zoo’s new Jungle Terrace event tent for whirlwind tour of dinner and a hilarious behind-the-scenes look into the love lives of our animal friends, courtesy of Miami Metrozoo’s international sensation Ron Magill. The evening concludes with dessert, coffee and a few spins on the Wild Animal Carousel. Don’t miss this unique night out – all benefitting your Zoo!

Ghouls

Ghouls at Grassmere
Wednesdays: October 16-18, 23-25, & 29-30
5pm- 9pm

Ghouls is back with an extra week of the “things that go bump in the night”! Due to popular demand we’ve added more dates to this family-friendly “merry not scary” event, giving you more chances to trick-or-treat our 20 treat stations, visit the “Monster Lab”, ride the “Scary-go-Round” and hop on the ever popular “Haunted Hayride”!
