Attention summer camp fans: the registration requirements for this popular program have changed. Visit the summer camp page for registration details and new requirements. Special members-only registration begins January 5, 2010.

"Show Me the Monkey!" Teacher Workshops
January 4 and February 15
Calling all Teachers! Bring your classroom alive with Nashville Zoo’s educational school programs. Our specially designed workshop will combine science with literacy, math and social studies while meeting applicable standards. This workshop will provide a brief glimpse into how the Zoo can benefit you as an educator.
Winter Toddler Series

This unique six-week series is designed for you to spend quality time with the child in your life. Each program combines crafts, story time, and up-close personal visits from special animal friends.
Wild and Crafty Animal Tales

Join our Education staff at 10:30 a.m. each Tuesday in January for story time, a craft and a special animal guest appearance. Designed for ages 3 to 5, but all are welcome! Each class is different!

Unleash your artistic side with Nashville Zoo’s new art program. Students will learn professional techniques to draw wildlife using live animals as their models.
COMING SOON: 2010 ZooTeen Applications
Is your teen interested in volunteering at Nashville Zoo?
ZooTeens learn about the animals on exhibit and the challenges facing the natural world then share this information with Zoo visitors. As participation continues, there may be opportunities to volunteer in an animal care area or other areas of involvement. Teens ages 13 to 17 must be able to volunteer at least 4 hours per week, 7 of the 9 weeks of the program, June 1 – August 2, 2010. First Year ZooTeen Applications will be available on our website in January 2010.

A Croft House Christmas
Dec.5-6, 12-13 and 19-20
Yuletide tours of the Historic Croft Home explore Victorian Christmas customs and traditions that we still honor today. Greenery, ribbon, and vintage decorations that belonged to Margaret and Elise Croft, former tenants of the Grassmere property, will be on display throughout the Home. Tours are included with Zoo admission.
Docent Open House
Sunday, January 17
Do you have a love of the natural world? Would you like to share that passion with others? Join the Docent Program at Nashville Zoo at Grassmere. Docents are volunteers who work in an educational capacity, carrying out Nashville Zoo’s mission with the public by utilizing hands-on materials. In their encounters, docents not only enhance the experience of Zoo visitors, they also engage people regarding current conservation issues.
To become a docent, click here to fill out an application, and join us at our Open House. Training sessions start February 6.
Zoo Run Run
Saturday, January 23
Bring your family or just yourself for some fun afternoon exercise at the Zoo. Our 5K Run/Walk is open to everyone – serious runners, serious Zoo-lovers, strolling families, friends and more.

Huddle up at Nashville’s wildest pre-game! Come view our starting line up and enjoy half priced admission for your entire team! $7 adults, $4.50 children, and $6 seniors (members and children under 2 are free).
Eggstravaganzoo

Nashville Zoo will be hoppin’ with Easter fun at our annual Eggstravaganzoo. There will be egg hunts, games, and visits from the one and only Easter Bunny!! Don’t forget to stop by the exhibits to see the zoo’s animals partake in egg hunts of their own!
Bunny Breakfast
You can’t hunt eggs on an empty stomach, so make sure to sign up for our pre-Eggstravaganzoo Bunny Breakfast! Enjoy a full breakfast while your little peeps are mingling with the cotton-tailed one himself!
2010 Zzzoofari Slumber
Gather the whole family, pitch a tent, and spend the night alongside the residents of the Nashville Zoo at one of our four campouts. Zzzoofari slumbers are packed with fun activities like crafts, hayrides, and a traditional hot dog and marshmallow roast.
