Summer Camp Counselors in Training (CIT)

Summer Position Only: June 8-26 and July 6-24
The 2009 CIT program is full. Please check back in February for information and application for the 2010 Summer Camp CIT program.
Volunteer one or more weeks this summer to mentor younger kids and have some wild fun too! CIT volunteers assist with our popular summer camp. This is a great volunteer opportunity for those who love working with children (ages 5-9) and enjoy being around animals. CIT volunteers work directly with Zoo staff to help monitor groups of children and assist with crafts, games and other fun activities.
Qualifications:
- 15-17 years old
- Available one FULL week of camp, Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
- Enthusiastic and cheerful
- Strong interest in working with young children
- Team player that participates in all aspects of camp
- Reliable transportation to and from the Zoo
Basic Duties:
- Assist camp counselors with daily activities of camp, including preparation and clean up
- Assist with crafts, snack preparation and games/activities
- Adhere to all guidelines established by Nashville Zoo
Training:
- Attend CIT orientation, including a review of camp guidelines
