Docents

Docents are a dedicated group of volunteers committed to educating the public about the Zoo's animals as well as conservation and wildlife issues. A docent's primary focus is interacting with and educating Zoo visitors using biofacts and other educational tools.
To become a Nashville Zoo docent, you must volunteer a minimum of 70 hours, pay a one time fee of $55 (includes uniform and training materials) and attend at least four of the six docent training classes. The next series of classes will begin on February 6, 2010. There will also be an Open House in the Croft Center Gallery at 3pm on January 17, 2010 to meet current docents and learn more about the program.
