Docents are a dedicated group of volunteers committed to educating the public about the Zoo's animals as well as conservation and wildlife issues. A docent's primary focus is interacting with and educating Zoo visitors using biofacts and other educational tools.
To become a Nashville Zoo docent, you must volunteer a minimum of 70 hours, pay a one time fee of $60 (includes uniform and training materials) and attend at least four of the six docent training classes.
